The Pekiti-Tirsia Europe Organization

In 1996 Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje, the Keeper of the Pekiti-Tirsia Kali system, founded the Pekiti-Tirsia Europe Organization as his official European representation and as the European Pekiti-Tirsia Headquarters. This is the only Pekiti-Tirsia Kali organization in Europe that has been authorized by the Grand Master of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali.

The Pekiti-Tirsia Europe Organization is the head of all Pekiti-Tirsia Organizations in Europe. It is responsible for all European Affairs (especially for founding country organizations and examination of students and instructor candidates). Currently the Pekiti-Tirsia Europe has representations in Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and Czech Republik. More representations to come.

Managing Director of the Pekiti-Tirsia Europe is Uli Weidle, who is the highest ranked Pekiti-Tirsia Kali teacher in Europe. He was ranked by Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje as Maginoo Mandala 5^th Hagdan  (according to the traditional Kali ranking scheme used by Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje). Uli Weidle is also responsible for the Pekiti-Tirsia Germany Organization.

Aims of the Organization

• To teach Pekiti-Tirsia Kali as it is taught in the Philippines
• To keep Pekiti-Tirsia Kali as an authentic martial art with its roots in the Philippines
• To provide opportunity for advancement training in direct Contact with Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje
• To satisfy highest demands by Quality Control through Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje himself
• To give Kali-Interested people an orientation for searching qualified teachers
• To improve contact between Pekiti-Tirsia Kali groups and schools

How the aims are reached

Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje regularly comes from the Philippines to Germany to conduct Workshops for Kali-interested people and special training camps for instructors and instructor candidates. For the same purpose he visits together with Uli Weidle the other affiliated countries in Europe.

Beyond that Uli Weidle often visits Grand Tuhon Leo T. Gaje in the Philippines, to train with the Kali Grand Master in the Homeland of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. At this Occasions Uli Weidle lives together with the family of the Grand Master, which provides a better understanding of Filipino culture and Martial Art.

Several times a year special Workshops for instructors and instructor candidates are arranged. This ensures competence of the trainers and provides opportunity to maintain contact between Pekiti-Tirsia Kali schools and clubs.
