Slash and Thrust of Pekiti Tirsia Espada y Daga (sword and dagger) with Uli Weidle and Sixt Wetzler

Topic

The highest sophistication in the Pekiti Tirsia system can be found in the skillfull combination of slash and thrust. „Panabas y puntadas, slash and thrust, are like brother and sister, you cannot separate them!“ is a famous quote from Grandtuhon Leo Gaje. Slashes and thrusts have to combine to acquire mastery in fighting. On this seminar weekend, the participants will learn how to incorporate the quick combination of slashes and thrusts into their movement patterns. Highlighted weaponry will be espada y daga, the simultaneous use of sword and dagger.

Some of the covered topics are:

  • Abecedario with sword and dagger
  • dagger entries from the long range
  • 7-8-9 sequence as a blueprint for slash and thrust combination
  • the “slust” and the sluster drill: slash and thrust in one
