ARUN MICHAEL TREFZ: equally enthusiastic for martial arts and dance Arun found in the work of Pia André New Dance and Stick Fight the possibility to combine both.
soft–hard, fast–slow, playful–serious, vulnerable–confident.
He was fascinated to explore the mutual qualities between martial arts and dance, like for example the basic principles of space, time and timing.
Thrilled by stick fighting he decided to dig deeper into the Filipino Martial Arts.
After having experienced Ju-Jutsu, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Systema he discovered the Pekiti Tirsia system which amazed him with its abundance of topics and possibilities.
In the Pekiti Tirsia system he found uncompromising self-defence, meditation in movement, benign health development, life appreciating philosophy, serious sport,
social work, violence prevention, character development
